They are self-limiting and painless. Their size may increase to several centimeters, causing food lodgement. This contributes to periodontal disease of adjoining teeth if the patient’s oral hygiene is poor.

Conservative surgical correction of the bony mass is necessary if it interferes with function, denture placement and smile.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row content_layout=”boxed” equal_height=”” animation_delay=”” disable=”” id=”” class=”” bg_type=”image” bg_image=”” color_overlay=”” enable_parallax=”” enable_pattern=””][vc_column layout=”normal” vertical_align=”top” animation_delay=”” width=”1/2″][vu_image_box image=”4089″ ratio=”2:1″ title=”Bony mass (exostosis) evident in maxilla and mandible ” description=”” read_more_text=”Read More” link=”” class=””][/vc_column][vc_column layout=”normal” vertical_align=”top” animation_delay=”” width=”1/2″][vu_image_box image=”4090″ ratio=”2:1″ title=”Exposure of bony mass after flap elevation” description=”” read_more_text=”Read More” link=”” class=””][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row content_layout=”boxed” equal_height=”” animation_delay=”” disable=”” id=”” class=”” bg_type=”image” bg_image=”” color_overlay=”” enable_parallax=”” enable_pattern=””][vc_column layout=”normal” vertical_align=”top” animation_delay=”” width=”1/2″][vu_image_box image=”4091″ ratio=”2:1″ title=”Trimming of bony mass” description=”” read_more_text=”Read More” link=”” class=””][/vc_column][vc_column layout=”normal” vertical_align=”top” animation_delay=”” width=”1/2″][vu_image_box image=”4092″ ratio=”2:1″ title=”Exposure of bony mass after flap elevation” description=”” read_more_text=”Read More” link=”” class=””][/vc_column][/vc_row][/vc_section]
