Such tooth is referred to as impacted. Impactions may occur due to various reasons. For example, the jaw may be too small and there may be insufficient space for the teeth to erupt. Teeth may also become twisted, tilted, or displaced as they try to emerge, resulting in impacted teeth.

The most common impacted teeth are wisdom teeth or third molars. Impacted teeth may result in swelling, pain and infection of surrounding gum tissue. Also, impacted teeth may cause permanent damage to nearby teeth or lead to the formation of cysts or tumors that can destroy sections of the jaw. Therefore, it is often recommend that impacted teeth be promptly removed.[/vc_column_text][vu_heading style=”2″ heading=”Case I” subheading=”” alignment=”left” custom_colors=”” class=””][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row content_layout=”boxed” equal_height=”” animation_delay=”” disable=”” id=”” class=”” bg_type=”image” bg_image=”” color_overlay=”” enable_parallax=”” enable_pattern=””][vc_column layout=”normal” vertical_align=”top” animation_delay=”” width=”1/3″][vu_image_box image=”2620″ ratio=”2:1″ title=”X-ray showing two impacted lower canine teeth” description=”” read_more_text=”Read More” link=”” class=””][/vc_column][vc_column layout=”normal” vertical_align=”top” animation_delay=”” width=”1/3″][vu_image_box image=”2602″ ratio=”2:1″ title=”Surgical exposure of impacted teeth” description=”” read_more_text=”Read More” link=”” class=””][/vc_column][vc_column layout=”normal” vertical_align=”top” animation_delay=”” width=”1/3″][vu_image_box image=”2565″ ratio=”2:1″ title=”Immediately after surgical removal of impacted lower canine teeth” description=”” read_more_text=”Read More” link=”” class=””][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row content_layout=”boxed” equal_height=”” animation_delay=”” disable=”” id=”” class=”” bg_type=”image” bg_image=”” color_overlay=”” enable_parallax=”” enable_pattern=””][vc_column layout=”normal” vertical_align=”top” animation_delay=””][vu_heading style=”2″ heading=”Case II” subheading=”” alignment=”left” custom_colors=”” class=””][vc_row_inner equal_height=”” animation_delay=”” disable=”” id=”” class=””][vc_column_inner vertical_align=”top” animation_delay=”” width=”1/3″][vu_image_box image=”2597″ ratio=”2:1″ title=”Severely decayed and impacted lower right wisdom tooth” description=”” read_more_text=”Read More” link=”” class=””][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner vertical_align=”top” animation_delay=”” width=”1/3″][vu_image_box image=”2578″ ratio=”2:1″ title=”Impacted wisdom tooth surgically removed atraumatically” description=”” read_more_text=”Read More” link=”” class=””][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner vertical_align=”top” animation_delay=”” width=”1/3″][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][vc_row_inner equal_height=”” animation_delay=”” disable=”” id=”” class=””][vc_column_inner vertical_align=”top” animation_delay=””][vu_heading style=”2″ heading=”Case III” subheading=”” alignment=”left” custom_colors=”” class=””][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][vc_row_inner equal_height=”” animation_delay=”” disable=”” id=”” class=””][vc_column_inner vertical_align=”top” animation_delay=”” width=”1/4″][vu_image_box image=”2571″ ratio=”2:1″ title=”X-ray showing 6 impacted teeth- upper right and left third molars and lower right and left third and second molars” description=”” read_more_text=”Read More” link=”” class=””][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner vertical_align=”top” animation_delay=”” width=”1/4″][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner vertical_align=”top” animation_delay=”” width=”1/4″][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner vertical_align=”top” animation_delay=”” width=”1/4″][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_column][/vc_row][/vc_section]
